So What's In Your Peanut Butter? Sometimes manufacturers will add sugar, hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, preservatives, etc. When the peanut butter is called reduced fat, you better bet that something else not so good (like sugar or high fructose corn syrup) is being added in. The healthy fat from peanuts does not need a replacement! It is good for your heart when used in moderation!
I recommend the following ingredients: peanuts, salt (or unsalted if you have high blood pressure)
Now, you have to keep the natural kinds in the refrigerator, so it is a bit harder to spread on your bread. But wouldn't you rather have a hard time spreading it on your bread than spreading hydrogenated oils and sugar onto your waist?
